What is polished concrete?
Concrete Polishing is a vibrant part of the flooring industry. The benefits of concrete processed to a high gloss are extensive. Many facility owners and managers are realizing the long term benefits such as ease and lower cost of maintenance. Another benefit of polished concrete that is often overlooked is slip coefficient. Polished concrete, when properly processed, will meet or exceed the national standards for slip coefficient.

Are You Getting What You’re Paying For?
As the demand for polished concrete increases, so do the numbers of providers. How are the end results measured? By the shine? Concrete, due to its properties, can be made to shine with sandpaper! How long will it last? Long enough to get your check cashed!
The Concrete Polishing Association of America (CPAA) and the Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA) have established scientific measurements to quantify the end results that you’re paying for. CPAA uses measurements for gloss and Distinction of Image (DOI). The CSDA established Standard ST-115 to measure the surface texture both before and after the polishing contractor is complete. Make sure to establish these measurements up-front with your polishing contractor so that both parties understand that the end results will be quantified and scientifically measured. At Ardor Solutions, we want to make sure you get your money’s worth and enjoy your investment for many years to come.
