Epoxy vs. Resin

Do you know the difference between epoxies and resins? Epoxies consist of two parts: a resin and a hardener. As a result, all epoxies contain a resin, but resins don’t contain an epoxy. Resins are simply an essential component of making an epoxy by providing the adhesive qualities of an epoxy when mixed with a hardener.

What Is Epoxy Resin?

It’s a thermoset material that offers the durability of a resin floor, bonds to a concrete base to protect underlying floor infrastructure, and can withstand heavy loads. Maintenance Tips for Your Epoxy Flooring

When minor spills or vehicle drippings occur, simply wipe them up with a paper towel or other soft cloth.
A soft-bristle broom or a blue commercial dust mop available at any home improvement store are the ideal tools for routine cleaning.
For deep cleaning a heavily soiled epoxy floor, sweep away any loose debris, and then mop the floor with a hard foam mop, hot water, and clear ammonia.
Most substances can be removed with hot water and a deck brush.
Some stains (including rust) may require light scrubbing with a kitchen scrubbing pad. If you’re unable to remove them with just hot water, we recommend using Soft Scrub. Do not use Comet or any other abrasive cleaning chemicals on the coatings.
If desired, the floor can be hosed down and dried with a squeegee.
Do not use any cleaner that contains acids (e.g., citrus cleaners or vinegar) or soap-based cleaners. Soap-based cleaners leave a residue on the floor that not only detracts from the shine, but causes the floor to become increasingly slippery when wet.
